Social Media…

We all have a Facebook account, and no doubt have some friends on there that we don’t actually know. We all watch videos on Youtube that make us laugh, but sometimes we’ll watch one that really makes us wonder why we even bothered wasting the bandwidth watching it. Twitter, Linked in, digg it, bebo, myspace, the list goes on…endless social media networks that we are told to join, follow, watch…if you’re not in the newest social network you’re nothing. And now you’re told you can use these medias for advertising and marketing your business. It’s hard enough just trying to stay on top of managing friends lists on all the different networks…

We offer training on how to manage your social media marketing campaign, but what you really have to ask yourself is, “Do you have the time to do it properly?” and “Will the odd post on Facebook really inspire my target audience to stop, pay attention and spend their hard earned money on my product?”.

The quick answer is NO!

Social media is a great tool for your business, but it’s not for selling. Earn peoples trust, create a network of possible customers who believe in you and your product…but do not sell! You may ask “Well if I can’t promote and sell my product through social media, how do I utilise social media to benefit my business?”
Earn peoples trust, inform them of relevant information, post tutorials, how to’s or even funny clips, jokes or images. The content you post will depend on your business and it’s audience. Give the people what they want without letting them know you’re actually reeling in the big one.

We work with four social media networks…Facebook (of course), Youtube, Twitter and Linked in. We think these are the core networks and until times change, as they always do, focusing on these four will keep anyone busy and in the right places. If you want to know more about how we use social media, call or email and we can discuss the options available to you.
Or you can check out these handy videos that show you some of the basics of utilising social media for your business. One of the best ways to learn about social media is to embrace it. So…if you see a big black space to the right, come on, get with the times and add the Facebook plugin to your web browser. You will open up a whole new world of social media integration!
